Now it is time to start gearing up for deer. Jodi and I both have deer licences and next week is the opener for 4th rifle. I am taking my bow, but have to wear orange. The Mule deer are starting to rut, so we should see a lot. I will be self-videoing the first day, because Jodi will not be up hunting until the third day. Look for video and updates. Well She did not get one last week, but we are heading back up this morning to see if we can get a lasat day bull. Other than that, Jodi and I have Mule deer rut tags in November, so look for that. As always, the reviews keep pouring out at www.outdoorproductreview.com!

It has been abusy couple of weeks since we came home. We put together a huge B-day party for out daughter and now are getting ready to take her on her first elk hunt this weekend. I have the camper ready and packing is all we need to do. I will update hunting reports of our hunt and hers when we return. I have been working on www.outdoorproductreview.com so go check it out. Well I am heading back up into the high country tomorrow. I am hoping that I can connet with the bulls I saw last week. Hopefully they are not scared off from the Muzzle Loaders that were up there. I did get a call from Doug and he shot a 4X5 bull last Saturday. Keep your eyes out for cool things coming this fall!!

This morning my phone buzzed with a picture of Doug with his 5X4 bull he shot. congrats Doug. I will put a picture of it on here as soon as I get a good copy. Jodi and I are back. Man to say we had some close calls is an understatement. I just got a call from Doug who was hunting with us and he shot a bull tonight. They are looking for it right now. I will update in the morning. I am also heading back up Friday early so I can fill the old tags. Follow along and please send emails with suggestions!!

To say I have busy is an understatement! We had a great time Dove hunting and shot a total of 50 of them. The injured soldiers had a great time and really enjoyed themselves. I will have pictures soon. Also, tomorrow, Jodi and I leave for elk camp!!! I have been packing and getting last minute things together. the temps are down in the cool 40's at my house and even cooler up where we are going! Hopefully we connect, but make sure you check back and follow the hunt!

Today I am taking two wounder soldiers hunting in Sterling Colorado. We will be hunting Dove tomorrow and letting these warriors enjoy their time in the outdoors. Special thanks goes out to the injuredsoldiers.org and the land owner Carl Werner for making this happen. Afternoon

After being rained out for the first two days I finally got out this afternoon. I saw two bucks while I was out this afternoon. One was a monster with thick forks and a massive curl. He was P&Y that is for sure, maybe even B&C. Anyway, I got to within 141 yards of him and he didn't know I was there. Then some yahoo comes driving by right through the prairie.. The guys didn't even see me, but he was just mudding out there tearing everything up. Boy I was pissed off!#$%@.

Oh well, he was pretty and hopefully I can get a chance at him again tomorrow..

Afternoon Update

Well, all I can say is rain and more rain. The temp dropped down to 43 today and it did not stop raining. Maybe tomorrow will prove better.

Woke up this morning to rain and more rain. It has been raining here for the past two weeks non stop. Antelope are on the list today, I am putting on my Frog Toggs and heading out. Update when I get back tonight!

Gearing up for elk season!! I was evaluating a site and was planning on using it for elk seaon, but it broke while adjusting the windage. That sight will not get the best review that is for sure. Well just returned from a fun filled scouting trip to the high country. I am doing an evaluation on a trail camera and you will be able to see some pictures here soon. We had a great time minus the mosquitoes, yet we are ready for elk season around the corner. We are also going to be hunting late rifle when it is freezing cold in the same area my mother-n-law killed her big horn sheep a couple of years ago. Jodi and I just got back from a high country camping trip. Spent three nights above timberline. Jodi climbed Mount Yale (14,196 ft) while I had the kiddies fishing. Look for pictures tomorrow on here. Right now, click the link for the 2008 bow review and watch them. You won't be dissapointed.

Things are going well. Jodi and I were suposed to be on a buffalo hunt this last week, but the ranch has some structure problems and all of the guides are busy with that. We will be going in October to the same place. Bear Mountain Ranch is the name of it and it is set in the mountains of Colorado. Very beautiful and nice up there. Look for that along with our elk hunts and deer hunts. This year we have a wide assortment of hunts that we are doing. From antelope to coyotes!! Jodi and I just got back from Germany from a two week vacation. We had a great time and now it is time for us to get busy. I have a lot of things going on over the next couple of months. First, we are headed to Northern Colorado for a Buffalo hunt. I will have video of it and lots of pictures. Next, the bow review is still going on and numerous other projects. Stick with us and enjoy the ride.

Man, Jodi and I have some real exciting news for everyone that we will be posting real soon. Let us just say, there there are some great things going to be happening!!

Well this last weekend Jodi and I were at her mothers house. Her mom has a bull elk tag for 2nd season and Jodi went along with her to see if they could get something. Well we are back from our trip. I can't believe it is over. We had an awesome time with tons of encounters. There were deer and elk running everywhere. I will be updating with photo's and stories of the hunt this whole week. Let's just say it is very exciting!!

Well everyone, it is getting to be that time of year for our annual elk hunt. We are leaving the 14th of September. Season starts this Saturday but we will not go until they are screaming. The bow review is still going on and there are only a couple of more that will be posted. Make sure you follow our elk hunt this year! Last years elk hunt was a blast and can be read at bowhunting.net. This year it will also be an online hunt, but I will ensure it is posted here as well. Well folks, my ankle is just about healed. It is amazing how much pain is associated with your ankle. Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts about my healing. Oh and yes, it is very hot over in the desert, lol.
