This is great news for Blazin Arrows Outdoors! There will be goose hunting video, Ice fishing, Elk, deer, Turkey, and Coyote hunting to show you guys on here. 30 April 06

A guy I work with has a friend that just bought 25 acres. He has given me permission to hunt there. This morning I went out and was walking down the fence listening for anything. About 6:30 I heard a Gobble. I moved my way torwards the turkey and set up my blind, right after I placed out my decoy's. As the light grew the gobbler grew quiet. I heard hens yelping, lots of hens. I started to purr and cluck and was answered with a gobble. This went on for about 20 minutes until I saw the first one. A hen was walking towards me yelping. I thought, "What is better than a live decoy!" She worked her way around my blind until she was out of sight. I could still hear her yelping and the gobbler would answer every now and again. That is when I saw the fan. There he was about 200 yards away in full strut. The problem was, he had about 7 hens with him and they were all feeding away from me. I called and called and was not able to turn him. I guess 7 women were better than one, ha ha. Well, that is how it goes, but I know where they roost now, and I will be there earlier set up on their path again!

20 Apr 06

Well other than being very busy field testing equipment, I have been turkey hunting. Today, I went out with Rick Philipi, a friend of Robert Hoage from www.bowhunting.net, and we hunted on his lease. We started the morning in a place that Rick calls the "point." First off we heard gobbels about 300 yards away. Last night we had a very bad storm and I believe the turkeys were very stressed out. Anyway, the Gobblers moved away and never responded, so Rick and I went towards them. We set up and called where we thought there were. After about a half hour, we loaded up the decoys and were getting ready to leave. Just then I heard a gobble, and it was close. I turned to Rick and said, "I think I just heard a gobble." He said, "Give it call." I called and the gobbler answered back, this time only about 100 yards away. We ditched the decoys and sat down at the tree we had set at. The gobbler would answer our calls but seemed to be going away. After about 20 minutes, we decided the gobbler was gone. That is how most of the day went. We got a flat on the John Deer Gator to add injury to insult, lol. Oh well!!! I must thank Rick for taking me out on his lease. I had a great time and just enjoyed the great morning watching the sun come up and hearing that sound of the old gobbler!!! I will be out again this weekend to put the smackdown on them!!

Other news: I heard from Rob in NC and he is having some bad turkey luck. You can see some pictures of Rob and the deer he has killed in the "pics" section.
